چکیده
Metal oxides as ZnO provide an interesting alternative for conventional low work function metals as electron injection layer in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). However, for most state-of-the-art OLED materials the high work function of ZnO leads to a large injection barrier for electrons. As a result the electron current in the OLED is largely limited by the contact, leading to a strong reduction of the conversion efficiency. Here we demonstrate that by depositing an amorphous ZnO layer as cathode in an inverted polymer LED, the electron injection can be strongly enhanced by electrical conditioning. For suited polymers comparable conversion efficiencies of the conventional and inverted PLEDs can

The work mechanism and sub-bandgap-voltage electroluminescence in inverted quantum dot light-emitting diodes
Through introducing a probe layer of bis(4,6-difluorophenylpyridinato-N,C2)picolinatoiridium (FIrpic) between QD emission layer and 4, 4-N, N- dicarbazole-biphenyl (CBP) hole transport layer, we successfully demonstrate that the electroluminescence (EL) mechanism of the inverted quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QD-LEDs) with a ZnO nanoparticle electron injection/transport layer should be dire...

This article reports forward and reverse biased emission in vertical ZnO nanowire/p-GaN heterojunction light emitting diodes (LEDs) grown out of solution on Mg-doped p-GaN films. The electroluminescence spectra under forward and reverse bias are distinctly different. Forward bias showed two peaks centered around 390 nm and 585 nm, while reverse bias showed a single peak at 510 nm. Analysis of t...

Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) are an emerging class of new materials due to their unique physical properties. In particular, colloidal QD based light emitting diodes (QDLEDs) have been extensively studied and developed for the next generation displays and solid-state lighting. Among a number of approaches to improve performance of the QDLEDs, the most practical one is optimization of charge tran...
